Title: Hitched!
Author: Jessica Hart
Publisher: Harlequin KISS

The practical and ambitious site engineer, Frith is determined to focus on her career and not let romance get in the way. The seemingly laid-back estate manager, George Challoner is equally determined to woo her. Frith’s life gets complicated by the sudden arrival of her flighty and famous model sister. She finds herself landed with the task of organizing her sister’s hen’s night party. George Challoner is charming and helpful. However, at the party, his sordid past is revealed. How Frith and George set about rescuing each other from the clutches of their respective past forms a sweet emotional story.

The story has lots of witty dialogue and that’s just my kind of romance fiction. Amusing, entertaining and emotional it’s a lovely read.

This Moment {18 January 2013}

{this moment} – A Friday ritual.

A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week.

A simple, special, extraordinary moment.

A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

The One That Got Away

Title: The One That Got Away
Author:Kelly Hunter
Publisher: Harlequin KISS
Publishing date: Jan 22 2013
ISBN: 9780373207008

Set largely in Australia, this second chance at love contemporary romance made a great read.

Evie (Evangelina) and Max are business partners. Max needs to access his 50 million dollar trust fund, to enable their business to make a bid on the project. If he marries Evie, he can do so without having to wait. They agree to a marriage of convenience. Max takes Evie to meet his mother. Max’s half-brother Logan comes visiting too.

Logan had seen the picture of Evie, Max sent their mother. He feels that she might be the Angie he had had spent a passionate week with over a decade ago. He comes to check out his suspicions.

Evie and Logan meet. The passion is rekindled. But Logan’s ghosts come back to haunt him. Evie has to prove to him that she’s not really the meek Angie he knew – she has morphed into independent Evie. Logan has to lay his own demons to rest. How will they work out their relationship? The emotions and the passion run deep.

I loved the characterization and emotion in this story. Kelly Hunter has done a great job with creating not just the main characters but the supporting ‘cast’ too.

I enjoyed this reading a review copy of this book via NetGalley.

Your Life Without Limits

Title: Your Life Without Limits: Living Above Your Circumstances
Author: Nick Vujicic
ISBN: 9780307731043
Format Received : eBook
Category: Self Help – Motivational
Rating :

Most of us who have access to the internet, have at some point or the other heard about Nick Vujicic’s (pronounced VOY-a-chich) or watched this remarkable man on YouTube. Nick was born without arms and legs and yet lives a full and inspiring life.

This booklet has been adapted from Nick’s full-length autobiography ‘Life Without Limits’ which tells his most inspiring story.

It was with great eagerness then that I offered to review this book. Frankly, I was disappointed that this was not Nick’s autobiography like I thought it was. It is an extract from his biography and seems more of a motivational capsule.

However, you are able to get a glimpse into Nick’s struggles to be ‘normal’ despite his disability. He shares his experience of the complete loss of hope that he went through in his teenage years. The love and faith of his family pulled from the brink. Ultimately, it was his personal discovery of hope through his experience of God that helped him turn his life around.

I was never crippled until I lost hope. Believe me, the loss of hope is far worse than the loss of limbs. – Nick Vujicic

Nick
Nick shares how his belief in the power of hope is reaffirmed by others – like the orphans from an earthquake in China, the survivors in Haiti, slumdwellers in Mumbai. All of these people live on hope and their life is not determined by their circumstances. He urges his readers to monitor their thoughts and to live out their dreams.

We need to take responsibility for our own happiness and success. Nick Vujicic

This booklet makes great reading for someone is going through a low phase.

As I mentioned before, I was a little disappointed that this wasn’t actually Nick’s complete story. However, reading this booklet I certainly want to read the complete book – Life Without Limits.

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for the purpose of this review.
